MargenClaro buyer's guide
MargenClaro helps freelancers and small service businesses price a project from real costs and a chosen margin, then turn that price into a quote the client can read. The website calculator is free. MargenClaro Pro for Windows is a paid desktop app that saves quotes and exports client PDF and Excel files.
Free calculator or Pro purchase
The free calculator at margenclaro.com runs in your browser in English or Spanish, needs no account and saves nothing.
Pro is for the next step: keeping quotes on your computer and giving the client a finished document. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
The simple path in Pro
- Estimate the project: hours, what an hour costs you, direct costs, overhead, contingency and payment fees.
- Choose your margin. Pro shows three margins to compare.
- Describe the scope: deliverables, included revisions, exclusions, validity and terms. Add a named tax line, a deposit and a balance if you use them.
- Save the quote in your library, up to 100 quotes. Unsaved work is kept as a draft.
- Export the client PDF, in Letter or A4, or the client Excel file.
What your client receives
Client exports show price, total, scope, revisions, exclusions and terms, plus tax, deposit and balance when you use them. Hours, costs, fees, margin and profit never appear. A separate export for your own records can include internal figures. Keep that file private.
What the US$19 purchase includes
Pro 1.0 for Windows and the MargenClaro toolkit 3.0.1, as two downloads, for US$19 one-time before tax. Lemon Squeezy handles checkout and shows taxes and payment methods before you confirm.
- Pro: English or Spanish interface, 46 currencies as labels with no exchange rates, offline use, no account, no cloud.
- Toolkit: an offline quote builder for your browser, with guide and instructions in English, Spanish, French and Brazilian Portuguese, plus an Excel workbook in Spanish only. Pro and the toolkit do not share data.
Requirements
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. No Mac, Linux or mobile version.
- About 400 MB once extracted. Pro is a portable folder: unzip it and open the program. No installer.
- Not digitally signed, so Windows may show a security warning the first time. Keep your security settings on and open only the file from your order.
- Microsoft Excel is not needed to create the files. To open them, use an app compatible with Excel (.xlsx) files.
What Pro does not do
- No electronic signature. The acceptance block only adds signature lines.
- No payment collection. A deposit is shown, not charged.
- No invoices, tax rules or legal, tax or accounting advice. You type the tax name and rate.
- No currency conversion, cloud backup or sync between devices.
Licence
One purchase covers one business and its team. You may share the quotes you create with your clients. You may not resell or redistribute the software.

Where are my quotes stored?
In your Windows user folder, on your computer only. Back up by copying that folder.
